Significance

The tree makes an impressive sight when its in flower. As an added bonus the flowers are beautifully scented. In the book 'Arboretum' by Owen Johnson, this tree is one of the only two trees on the Wirral which receive a mention. The tree is rated 'An outstanding example' in the book.
